What the hell is this huge deal with twitter??
I sure souldn't figure it out myself so I decided to do a little wiki research.
"Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length which are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them (known as followers). Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow anybody to access them. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or applications such as Tweetie, Twitterrific, Twitterfon, TweetDeck and feedalizr."

Another fad...twitters been out for like a year and some change and just got popular last month...that should tell you something

I'm on it and Twitter has been out for more than a year.
Basically, it's for people who are trying to connect with like minded individuals around certain topics. At least that's how I use it. You can find a lot of people in different industries (I work in tech), that you can connect with. If you're looking for new tools for your field, Twitter might be where you can find them.
